Modicon M221 - Freezing of Ethernet communication with the Advantech LR77 modem

Hello. I occasionally experience issues where the M221 fails to communicate over Ethernet. The software runs without problems, but I cannot see the M221 remotely. Communication is restored after a restart (power cycling the M221). This only happens when using the Advantech LR77 modem.
Is it possible to test Ethernet communication within the M221 software and, in the event of an error, trigger an "auto-restart" using the program running on the M221?

Communication is reset using system bit %S112.
