How to integrate Modicon Edge IO NTSFMB0120H module in M580 system
Issue
I searched through all the documentation related to the module and couldn't find a software implementation example (for NTSFMB0120H module). Today, I tried using the INPUT_CHAR and PRINT_CHAR functions (as on a NOM card), without really getting conclusive results. How to implement in an ST program the reading and writing of data via the serial link? Is there any program sample ?

Please note that the interaction with the serial module is via the Edge I/O NIM. The module is configured as part of the Edge I/O NTS island and acts as a Modbus Serial Client. The read and write information is provided in the DTM (Ethernet IP via EDS (pre ECE V16.2) or native DTMs (ECE V16.2 CPU FW4.40 or later) or the mapped memory area for the NIM (Modbus TCPIP (pre ECE V16.2) .
The Modbus serial module handles the communication. Configuration of the module in the island specifies the Modbus function codes used, initial startup serial scan settings and like ethernet IO scanning specifies what to read and what to write and how often for each Modbus server connected.
There are also specific function blocks in ECE V16.2 for the management of the Edge I/ONTS island which may help in the diagnostics of the module.
