Where can I obtain the Active Load Timer of a ION7400?

Hello everyone!

I hope you’re doing well.

I’d like to ask if there is a module or a similar feature available on the ION7400 that works like the Active Load Timer on the PM5560 meter.

One of our clients recently replaced some of their PM5560 meters with ION7400 meters, and they would like to continue monitoring this parameter, but I cannot find anything like that in the user guide.

Thank you in advance for your help!

Best regards.

Hi @Veronika.Salinas

The ION7400 does not include a pre‑configured “Active Load Timer” register equivalent to the PM5560. The PM5000 series provides this as a fixed firmware feature, while ION‑series meters use a modular, programmable architecture. This means the functionality must be created using ION modules rather than relying on a built‑in register.

You can implement the same function on an ION7400 by customizing the meter’s framework in Advanced Mode using ION Setup or ION Designer (PME). A common approach is to use a Setpoint module to monitor the load (for example, average current or real power), combined with a Counter module that increments when pulsed by a Periodic Timer module. As long as the Setpoint module output is active, the Counter accumulates time, effectively replicating the Active Load Timer behavior.

Best Regards,

-Mehran
