I have a question regarding the HDPM6000 application for multi-source lineups.
Currently, we are using the HDPM6000 Master Unit with an incoming meter (P/N: METSEHDPM6S480VC) as a special application in switchboards with a single incoming source and multiple feeders (METSEHDPM6S24WF.)
Attached/Below is a diagram of our standard setup for a single incoming source: we install a metering CT on the main incoming section, wire it to the HDPM head unit, and daisy-chain the CT strips in the feeder sections back to the main head unit.
However, we are starting to receive requests for HDPM6000 applications in lineups with multiple incoming sources (e.g., Main-Main, Main-Generator, etc.).
Could you clarify the recommended approach for wiring the head unit in a multi-source configuration? I couldn't find specific documentation on this online.
My understanding is that a separate head unit would be required for each incoming source due to the single voltage reference limitation. If that is the case:

Can these head units be networked together via their Ethernet ports, two separate head/master units with displays, complete with individual sets of CTs and potential taps for each source?

The proposed configuration featuring two separate HDPM6000 head units, each dedicated to an incoming source with its own voltage references and metering CTs, is the recommended architecture.
A separate HDPM6000 head unit is required for each independent power source (for example, Main-Main or Main-Generator systems).
Each head unit supports only one 3-phase voltage reference. Since power, energy, and power factor calculations rely on both current and voltage measurements, all CT strips connected to a head unit must be associated with the same source as that head unit's voltage reference.
Connecting feeders supplied by a different source to a head unit referenced to another source can result in inaccurate power and energy calculations, particularly when there are voltage differences, phase displacement, or when the sources are not synchronized.

Each head unit operates as an independent metering system while allowing data aggregation through the network. Upstream systems such as PME, BMS, or other supervisory platforms can collect data from multiple HDPM6000 head units using supported Ethernet protocols.
Therefore, for a lineup with multiple incoming sources, use one HDPM6000 head unit per source. Connect the CT strips for each feeder group back to the corresponding head unit associated with that source, and network the head units together via Ethernet as required for centralized monitoring and visualization.
