PM8000 failing to connect to ionsetup

Good day Team,

Could you please assist with the following issue? We have a PM8000 on site that is failing to connect to ION Setup. The meter is reachable on the network — I am able to ping the device and access the web pages via a browser — however, ION Setup is unable to connect.

Additionally, the firmware version is not displaying on the meter.

Any guidance or troubleshooting steps would be appreciated.

Hi @Gladwin

Please ensure that TCP port 7700 is not blocked by the network, as ION Setup uses it to communicate with the meter. e.g, Test-NetConnection -ComputerName IP addr -Port 7700

If possible, try connecting directly to the meter’s ETH1 or ETH2 port, ensuring that both the meter and your PC are on the same subnet.

Are you able to see the meter’s real‑time measured values on the webpage?

Best Regards,

-Mehran

Hello @Gladwin,

Note that depending on how you are connecting to the meter, single device mode or network mode may also change what port ION setup is trying to use. By default ION Setup will try to use secure ION on port 7443. If ION setup cannot connect on Port 7443, ION Setup will then try 7700.

Regards,

Charles
