Hi,
I am writing this post because I am having trouble logging back in with the new password after changing my PM8000. I changed the password from '0' to '123!@#', but while the change was in progress, an alert pop-up window like the one in the picture appeared, and now none of the passwords work. I suspect that special characters are being entered, which is causing the issue. I would like to know if there is a way to revert the change.
Best regard

Hello @jryang_SAM-A ,
Context is very important and understanding the sequence of actions and well as meter settings before/after making changes. What version of ION Setup are you using? Did you try closing ION Setup and reopening after sending the updated password? Did you try changing user to prompt ION Setup to new a new password?
When making changes in Advanced mode, not always easy to know who you are currently logged in as, is ION Setup using an updated session token or a new token. By closing ION Setup after making changes you can be sure that any cached information is flushed.
Regards,
Charles

HI Charles
I confirmed that the ION Setup version was an older version. After installing the new version and attempting to connect, I confirmed that the connection was working correctly. I have confirmed that special characters can be used for the PM8000 password.
Thank you for your Support

However, prior to the password issue, I was unable to connect using the latest ION Setup.
ID:User1, 8000 etc..
PW: 0
I tried entering these but couldn't connect. I had to set the password using the previous ION Setup.
Is there anything I might have missed?

Are you connecting to meter via singled device mode or Network mode? Have you tried connect to the meter in network mode on port 7700?

Charles

Hello @Gladwin ,
Suggest you make sure you are using the latest version of ION Setup. If you are and still seeing the same behavior, I recommend you contact your local technical support and start a case. Would be helpful to run a Wireshark trace before opening ION Setup and trying while recording the traffic to/from the meter using port 7700 and include with the case.
Regards,
Charles
