Hello Joel,

Firmware upgrades may fail if communication between the device and server is interrupted during the upgrade process.

Please connect the device directly to the server and retry the firmware upgrade. Once the upgrade completes successfully, the device should return to normal operation.

This is the recommended recovery method at this stage.

Regards,
Rohith S

Hi @rohith-s,

Thanks for your answer.

We tried this several times with different computers and disabling other networks in the PC. Do you have any recommendations?

Best regards.

Hello @joel_mora_soati ,

Thank you for your feedback. Please try upgrading the device using the firmware file only and do not use the language file during the process.
This should help recover the device and restore it to normal operating mode.

Regards,

Rohith S

you ever get this resolved? We had similar glitch with a 5563RD, and haven't had the chance to get back out to retry as its not the most critical meter in that location. Was told similar to retry, but not sure if it just took ftp/sftp or what tool they used, or if it took using DLF3000.

Hello @Brian_McKeon ,

The PM5563RD firmware can be upgraded using either the Firmware Upgrade Tool or the device web interface.

If you encounter an issue, please share a photo of the device display showing the error message, along with the device serial number and firmware version details.

In some cases, if the firmware upgrade process is interrupted or aborted, the display may show a "Waiting for Host" message. If this message persists even after a power cycle, the device may not be able to recover through standard field recovery methods. In such situations, device replacement may be required.

Providing the requested information will help in assessing the condition and recommending the appropriate next steps.

Regards,

Rohith S
