Hello,
I would like to request guidance on the expected product lifespan for the following HDPM6000-related devices. If possible, please provide the information as a range in years (e.g., “X–Y years”):
・METSEHDPM6S480VC
・METSEHDPM6R42WF
・METSEHDPM6R84WF
・METSEHDPM75A12
・METSEHDPM150A12
In addition, I understand the head unit includes a microSD card.
How should we assess the microSD card’s lifespan?
While it depends on the use case,
my understanding is that higher write frequency generally shortens the service life.
One more point: when the HDPM6000’s microSD card reaches end of life and needs replacement,
could you advise on the recommended replacement procedure, formatting method,
compatible microSD types, and any precautions or best practices we should follow?

The factory-installed microSD card is a standard flash memory card. Given your usage profile, with a logging interval of 15 minutes and waveform logging enabled, the card is operating under normal conditions and is not being heavily stressed. Under these circumstances, it is expected to function reliably throughout the lifetime of the device and is unlikely to be a point of failure.
If additional endurance is desired, you may consider using an industrial-grade SD card, such as a SanDisk Industrial SD card, which is designed for enhanced longevity and reliability.
Regarding SD card health monitoring, the device provides only the SD Card Status register (4590). The register can report one of two states:

Regarding the HDPM6000 product family, the HDPM6000 is considered a non-repairable product, therefore MTBF is not applicable. However, based on Schneider Electric engineering analysis and field return data, the calculated MTTF (Mean Time To Failure) is approximately 130.8 years.
Please note that MTTF is a statistical reliability indicator and should not be interpreted as the expected service life of an individual installed device. Actual life may vary depending on environmental conditions, operating profile, installation quality, and maintenance practices.
The head unit uses a microSD card for storage. The service life of the microSD card depends on the application and is primarily influenced by write frequency and data logging activity. More frequent write operations will generally reduce the card's lifespan. There is no published replacement interval or specific microSD lifetime specification is currently available, as actual lifespan is highly dependent on usage conditions.
The HDPM6000 uses a proprietary SD card format. Based on engineering feedback, if a replacement microSD card is installed and is formatted using Windows, the HDPM6000 will typically initialize/reformat the card as required and continue operating normally.
Before replacing a microSD card, it is recommended backing up any required data and verifying proper operation after replacement.

We plan to configure 17 logging items across 120 registers, with a logging interval of 900 seconds (standard setting) plus event logs. Waveform data acquisition will be enabled for both the main and branch circuits; however, under normal operating conditions we expect waveform captures to be infrequent. For planning purposes, we assume approximately 100 waveform write events per month.
Based on these assumptions, could you advise whether the HDPM6000’s SD card can be expected to operate reliably for the lifetime of the instrument (assumed 7–10 years), barring device failure? If a definitive statement is difficult, your practical experience and general guidance would be appreciated.
Additionally, aside from checking the Modbus register for SD card status (e.g., register 4590), are there any other recommended methods to detect SD card abnormalities? If the SD card status register is the primary means, please provide the possible register values and their meanings (e.g., 0 = normal, 1 = not inserted, 2 = failure, etc.).
Lastly, we understand the HDPM6000 includes an internal coin cell battery for real-time clock retention. How should we consider its expected service life? We assume replacement is not supported; therefore, is it reasonable to expect normal operation for the product’s lifetime without battery-related maintenance?
