Hello,
in ION9000, can the SubSynchronous Oscillation detection signal be mapped on an IEC61860 Goose signal or on a IEC61850 MMS signal ?
If not, on which communication protocol can it be mapped ?
In addition, where are accessible the IEC61850 PICS, MICS, PIXIT, TICS file ?
Best regards

The ION9000 does not support IEC 61850 GOOSE messaging, so the Subsynchronous Oscillation (SSO) detection/status signal cannot be published as a GOOSE message.
The ION9000 does, however, support IEC 61850 client/server communication as an IEC 61850 IED/server. This communication uses MMS (Manufacturing Message Specification) for client/server data exchange.
SSO information that is available as an ION register can potentially be exposed through IEC 61850 using the meter's custom GGIO modules, depending on the type of SSO output required:
The resulting communication path would therefore be:
SSO ION register → IEC 61850 GGIO → IEC 61850 client/server (MMS) → SCADA/IEC 61850 client
If IEC 61850 is not the desired method, Modbus TCP and DNP3 are also supported alternatives on the ION9000.
For DNP3, the ION9000 operates as a DNP slave/outstation, and its DNP map can be customized. The DNP Slave Export module can map an ION register to a DNP point for retrieval by a DNP master. Numeric values can be exposed as DNP Analog Inputs, while Boolean values can be exposed as Binary Inputs.
Therefore, the available approaches are:
Regarding the IEC 61850 PICS, MICS, PIXIT and TICS files, for the ION meters such as ION9000, IEC 61850 configuration and implementation information is provided primarily through the IEC 61850 and ION Technology documentation, the ION Reference, and the applicable ICD/CID files for implementation and configuration information.
The ION9000 firmware package provides the applicable ICD file, which is used with CET850 to build the CID file that is loaded into the meter to enable IEC 61850 functionality.
