ION7650 (ION9000) used as High Resolution Recorder

Hi community, having a top tier airport operator hoping to use ION7650 (or ION9000 for newer part of airport), to achieve "High Resolution Recorder" function. Seeking feedback if any experience with performing custom ION framework to achieve this feature? Waveform Recorder module + COMTRADE module.

The requirements 8,9,and 10 suggest possibility is only with PM8000 or ION9000 with enough memory space.

1 Requirement High Resolution Recorder (HRR) installation required.
2 Dynamic Recording Active Power (MW), Reactive Power (MVar), Voltage (kV), Current (kA), Frequency (Hz).
3 Transient Recording Voltage (kV), Current (kA).
4 Dynamic Sampling Rate Minimum 50 Hz.
5 Transient Sampling Rate Minimum 1 kHz.
6 Analog Resolution 12-bit or 0.025% of full scale.
7 Frequency Resolution ±5 mHz.
8 Pre-trigger Recording Dynamic: ≥30 seconds; Transient: ≥0.5 second.
9 Event Storage Capacity Minimum 400 events.
10 Event Length Dynamic: ≥15 minutes; Transient: ≥5 seconds.
11 Time Synchronisation GPS clock with 1 ms timestamp resolution.
12 Data Format ASCII, Spreadsheet, or IEEE COMTRADE.

Hello @TC ,

Some elements the ION7650 can do, some elements the ION7650 can do with custom frameworks and some elements ION7650 cannot do. Again without details I would not be able to say. I would recommend working with your local schneider sales team.

Regards,

Charles

Hello @TC ,

ION7650 meters are obsolete so not an option for any new installation. Some of the points will depend on details. For example, with Event Storage Capacity, what is defined as an event, meter's event log, data recorder with details about the event, waveforms, COMTRADE etc. Different details will give different answers. Can the data be saved outside the device or does the data have to be on the device itself? PME would be able to store the data provided by the meter.

Have you talked to a Schneider sales team member about this request?

Regards,

Charles

Hi @Charles_Murison

You are right on proper understanding of the expectation.

We are still in the midst of understanding more from the customer.

By the way, some existing meters on-site are ION7650.
