Hi there,
Customer changed IP address in HDPM6000, and then not able to communicate. Not able to ping.
Tried to find out the IP address and mask by accessing MODBUS address 4484 - 4487, also failed, using default baudrate 115200 and ID #1. (customer did try with other settings but not all possible combinations)
Customer has total 15 sets, only this particular one having such issue.
Is there a way out of this other than replacing with brand new unit.
It seems no way to master reset to factory setting in this case.

Correct. There is no master reset to factory settings and the role of the reset button is to re-initiates the communication(without power cycle the meter).
If meter is still operational, there are some possible workarounds to find out the configured IP address on the meter:
1- If possible, connect the PC directly to the meter and ensure to assign the computer a static IP with correct subnet mask correlated to the new IP address.
Just as a reminder, starting from firmware version V62.7 (V62 package), HTTPS and related functionality were added to the meter, requiring access via HTTPS (e.g., https://10.10.10.4).
2- Using NetConfig free tool for Network Discovery that can automatically discover devices on the network, provided that meter has fw version above 60, otherwise it is a read only and at least should discover the device connected to the laptop network. Temporarily disabling the firewall might be needed.
3- Using Wireshark tool can help discover the IP addresses of connected Ethernet devices on the same network as the PC running Wireshark. Wireshark can capture broadcast packets, including ARP (Address Resolution Protocol) requests and replies which will show the sender's IP and MAC address, along with the target IP and MAC address being requested.
4- Software Manager has the Discover option, but maybe works on the same IP subnet:
5- You indicated that you attempted to connect via Modbus serial, but is meter entirely unresponsive over the serial Modbus interface?
By default serial Modbus settings of HDPM6000 is as below:
Default serial port settings:
Unit ID - 1
Parity - None
Stop Bits - 1
Baud Rate - 115200
If meter is responsive, you can connect serially to the device via a gateway or USB/Serial converter to read the 16 Modbus registers from 4480 from the serial port of this meter using any Modbus application to view the configured IP address of this meter.
In this example, I connected serially to the meter with related serial settings and polled the IP address related registers:
Additionally, verify the meter’s LED status indicators for any error conditions:

If none of the above steps resolve the issue, the meter may need to be replaced.

Thanks @Mehran_Mehrnia . Customer claim that they have tried without success, and decided to file a warranty claim as the fastest way to resolve the issue of one unit out of many that working fine.
