Hello,
Is there a method (such as a new tool) to continuously update multiple PM5560 units from version 4.x.x to version 4.y.y?
My understanding is that with the older tool, it is possible to perform continuous updates from version 2.8.3 to version 4.4.7 (up to 10 units, perhaps).

Okada

Hi @T.Okada
PM5560 meters running firmware version 4.x.y or later can be upgraded either through the web interface or by using the Upgrade Tool.
There is no newer tool beyond the Firmware Upgrade Tool (UT v3.8) specifically provided for PM5560 bulk updates. It supports up to 10 devices in a single session via Ethernet.
Schneider’s PM5560 firmware package (for versions 4.x.y, using UT v3.80) contains a Firmware Upgrade Tool specifically designed for batch updates.

Hi @T.Okada
You're welcome.
Regarding user1/pass1, as mentioned in user guide, for firmware v4.0.0 and higher, the username must be Administrator instead of the older user1 / user2 which only works for firmware 2.9.9 or earlier:

I downloaded the latest PM5560 firmware (version 4.4.9),
and in the firmware folder I found a document titled “Firmware upgrade user manual snippet.pdf.”
This document is different from the one you attached.
Is your document the latest version? On which web page can I find it?
Does the information in your document apply to the firmware upgrade tool included in the version 4.4.9 folder?

Okada

Hi @T.Okada
The document I linked above (PM5500 user guide -> Firmware upgrades) is the latest version available for download from the Schneider Electric website:
https://www.se.com/ca/en/download/document/HRB1684301/ → See Firmware Upgrades on page 210.
Both documents have the same revision number (HRB1684301-17), but in 'Firmware upgrades' section, they differ slightly in source and target firmware versions as well as upgrade methods. I recommend following the latest guide from the Schneider Electric website as shared above.
It also applies to version 4.4.9, as mentioned in the document titled “WhatsNew_PM5560_PM5580_PM5563_v4.4.9” included in the firmware package.

Hi @Mehran_Mehrnia,
Thank you for your reply.
I read the latest page describing the PM5500 firmware upgrade procedure,
and I tried updating multiple PM5500 meters (from ver. 4.x.x to ver. 4.y.y).
I eventually succeeded in updating them, but it required some tweaks.
In the manual you mentioned, the example config.csv entry is:
"192.168.0.10,255,user1,pass1,user2,pass2"
However, I changed it to:
"192.168.0.10,255,Administrator,Powerlogic@1,Administrator,Powerlogic@1"
and it worked well. In my case, Administrator is the username and "Powerlogic@1" is the password I set (changed from the initial value, which was the MAC address).
Is this the right approach?
I have one more question.
At first, I used the initial password in config.csv, as shown below:
"192.168.0.10,255,Administrator,0080xxxxxxxxx1,Administrator,0080xxxxxxxxx"
but it didn’t work.
FTPS was definitely enabled in ION Setup, yet the upgrade failed with the message:
"unable to fetch www folder. Retry upgrade."
With this config.csv, I could read the PM5500 information correctly,
but I couldn’t update the meters.
After that, I changed the password from the initial MAC address (without colons) to
"Powerlogic@1", and the upgrade succeeded.
Do you have any idea what might have caused this?

Okada

Hi @Mehran_Mehrnia,
Thank you for your reply.
I understand the reason why the initial password didn't work well.
