Hi, customer would like to have a common active alarm status feedback via modbus.
From meter front panel, alarm led blink whenever any alarm is active.
how can we duplicate this signal via modbus status feedback.

Hi @TC
Data Mapping I/O module inside the meter, which defines the Modbus data according to the meter’s Modbus register map, already provides several alarm‑related registers over Modbus that also appear on the display and webpages.
If you need additional alarms available over Modbus, you can create the required Modbus registers using the Modbus Slave module through the Modbus Map Setup Wizard in ION Setup.

Thank you @Mehran_Mehrnia . The possibility with ION Modules is endless and can surely address wide range of application need. It seems there is no factory defined "common alarm" Modbus register that mimic the front panel alarm LED. Wondering why such common alarm Modbus register is not made a default?

Hi @TC
You're welcome.
There is no factory‑defined Modbus register that mirrors the front‑panel Alarm LED, because the LED operates only as a local display indicator following the meter’s internal alarm‑handling rules and is not tied to a single internal register. (In particular, when the LED is flashing to indicate an unacknowledged active alarm, polling the LED state over Modbus would not be a robust approach)
Instead, the meter exposes individual alarm conditions through the Modbus map (via the Data Mapping I/O module), and customers can create a custom “common alarm” signal using ION logic if they require a single alarm bit.
