How does the Modify Family work in LayoutFAST?”

Hi, thanks for using LayoutFAST and for your question.

Quite simply, if you're using the LayoutFAST Revit Plugin:

1. Select the Product within the Revit experience
2. Click Modify Family in the LayoutFAST plugin
3. LayoutFAST Web will launch
4. Edit your existing configuration, as needed
5. Click Update

We should note:

• Our team, from time to time, may update the Product Data Model (PDM) on our side (a PDM represents the product you've inserted into your model).  If said PDM has been modified to the extent that there is a new RFA needed for the product, then the new RFA will be used. 
• There are instances where a PDM has been modified to where new feature question(s) will need to be answered by the user in order to properly create a product configuration.  Please answer those questions so the latest RFA can be produced.  To explain further, the modify family command will not fully recreate the initial solution that was configured by the user -- the product configurator will launch and populate as many of the features that were answered in the initial configuration, but now the user also needs to answer additional questions to complete the configuration.  
• If for some reason a previously saved configuration cannot be loaded, then a message will display stating that the RFA is no longer valid and that you have to re-configure your product.

Equipment Disappear After Modification

I initially placed a switchboard and then clicked 'Modify Family' to add a section which launched LayoutFAST window and I added the section and clicked 'Update'. LayoutFast window was closed and the system seemed to update the equipment but eventually it disappeared from the workspace. I tried the process all over again and same got same results. Any idea why this happens?

• The version of the LayoutFAST plugin you are using?  The latest version is 8.0.0.7.  You can find this information by clicking "About" under the LayoutFAST Plugin's Help section. 
• The product you are trying to modify

This will help us more quickly resolve the issue.

Equipment causing the problem was Switchboards.
