The Modicon M580 Safety controller enforces strict isolation between safety memory and process (non‑safety) memory. Users need a way to exchange data between these two isolated areas. What method allows safe data transfer between the safety and process regions in the M580 Safety PLC?
Resolution
In EcoStruxure™ Control Expert (Safety Edition), safety variables are stored in Safe Data Memory, and process variables are stored in Process Data Memory. It is possible for users to transfer and map data via its Input and Output Interface connectors.
This principle ensures safe, predictable, and compliant data transfer between safety and process logic.
