Issue
Validate the behavior of a function block connected to I/O (inputs/outputs) without physical hardware, avoiding the limitations of direct forcing of variables and ad‑hoc simulation functions.
Resolution
Implement virtual input/output modules as HW CATs (Hardware Composite Automation Types). These HW CATs act as a software simulation interface between the function block and the HMI.
The attached ZIP file contains all the FB files as well as the solution used to create the document.
