I hope I manage to get someone´s curiosity out of my title 😊

We have some customers who are in the dairy business here in Argentina and are located in places where qualified technicians are hard to get, and PLC´s are still a bad word. 

They want to have the simplicity of a standard refrigeration controller, readily available and cheap, and where the technicians can understand what´s going on with a simple series and some 22 mm led lights.

However  they would also like to have alarms, temperature records, etc. I think a PLC is an overkill for this and we are looking for a digital inputs modbus  "gateway" (or whatever is the best suited word for this).

Some interface relays are needed because everything is 220 V but that is not a big deal. I have seen some solutions for this but I have not been able to find something from Schneider.

Any advice will be welcome.

Hi, you could have a data logging also on the smallest TM17x PLC. On TM173O a logging on USB-C Pendrive is possible. With the 7 Segment Display you have an easy and fasts programmible interface. TM173O is also available in 110/230V . But only the DIN-rail version. But you could add TM173DLED on this to have a user interface in the cabinet door. A traditional Cold Room Controller will be cheaper. But in that case you have to understand all Paramert. If you create your own solution you are more flexible. On disadvantage of TM173O solution would be the "low" power on the relay outputs compare to an traditional controller. But you could solve this with additional contactors.

Ok, thanks. I gather there are no data adquistion devices (I mean, cheap ones) on the Schneider offer and it is best to sitck withTM173.
