TM171OBM14R Cannot connect to target

Dear  Team,

I am experiencing a problem with the TM171OBM14R controller. The communication parameters as well as the BIOS parameters have been lost.

As a result, it is impossible to connect to the controller either via the ADMI interface or via Modbus RTU (several scans did not detect the device).

I have a screenshot of the BIOS parameters, but I do not trust it since it was taken by someone else a few days after the communication issue occurred.

Additionally, since this model does not have a display, I cannot access the BIOS directly.

Could you please advise whether it is possible to reset the device to factory settings, or if there is any chance to restore communication?

do you know if TM171O is modbus master on port RS-485?

If yes, it is needed to disable the modbus master before to try to connect. Usually there is a parameter in a some menu, but in this case you need a TM171DLED to connect to the LAN.

If it is modbus slave, using ESME HVAC Installer it is possible to perform a scan on the port trying with different baud and different modbus address.

Check also the ADMI cable between PLC and ADMI,  a lot of plug-unplug could damage the cable. To test it connect to another PLC and connect.

Another solution is to check communication parameter using a remote display TM171DLED to LAN port of TM171O and verify the parameter CF30, CF31 and CF32.

And additional if it is modbus Master you have when i remember correct a few secounds during boot were you have the possibility to connect to the PLC via Modbus. And like Marco mentioned the easiest first way would via TM171DLED.

As alternative you could also try to set a new confiugration to the PLC via TM171AMFK

Thank you very much for your advice.

I have tried different address options, but so far this has not led to any result. I also tested the ADMI adapter on another controller, and it works correctly.

I found a TM171DLCD2U and attempted to connect it to the LAN port to adjust the BIOS parameters, but the attempt was unsuccessful. After powering on, the display only shows dashes, and pressing the key combination does not allow me to enter the BIOS menu. At the same time, the TM171DLCD2U works normally with another controller.

My next step will be to attempt to select the correct Modbus connection parameters.

If there are any other options or checks you would recommend, I would greatly appreciate your advice.

Unfortunately, it is not possible for me to obtain a TM171DLED or TM171AMFK at this time.

Hello,

TM171DLCD2U shows only what has been defined in the project running on TM171O, TM171DLED is an echo of the local display and allows to access Bios menu.

The only solutions available are the one already suggested: 

- TM171DLED or

- TM171DLED + TM171AMFK
