Hi
I am looking to connect several M172 control systems together. I think the term for this is called binding. I would like to have several M172 PLCs communicate with each other while each PLC has the ability to operate independently. It would be great if all the PLCs can communicate with a desktop computer to interface with the end user. Is there an interface that can take in all the data from the several PLCs and trend log this information with a remote access capability.
Thanks in advance for the help.

If you want a communication between several TM172 you could use the CAN or Ethernet Binding via ESME HVAC - Installer. You could also use directly Modbus RTU or TCP to interact between several controllers. I would prefere in that case Modbus TCP becaus it allowas multi master capability.
If you want a system on top you could use any kind of SCADA system, or TM172SIG which are connected to all TM172 per RS485. You could use the Webserver to show trend values an actual values.
You could do the same with HMISTM6BOX which could collect the data in an easy way via variable export ESME HVAC via Modbus RTU and/or TCP. HMISM6BOX offers also a webserver to show the data.
But fpr HMISTM6BOX you need Operator Terminal Expert with an additional license. You could test Operator Terminal Expert with this reference one month for ~10€/$ HMIEOTEBTB1SM

Thank you very much for the help.
I do not know much about this yet, it sounds like several of the M172s can be configured as client/server. Perhaps you configure IO mapping on ethernet the same way you would with a CAN? Do you know what the limitation of traffic is on a large network?
