Question from the audience: We are using for Solar System; do we need to get separate for Electrical vehicle charging station?
Answer: You can have in your installation different supply systems, including PV systems. In this case, it is defined in IEC 60364 as a prosumer’s electrical installation. In the IEC 60364, IEC 60364-8-2 gives requirements and recommendations for prosumer’s electrical installations. For the PV installations, 60364-7-712 gives requirements and recommendations for such installations, and for EV, 60364-7-722 gives requirements and recommendations for the circuits supplying EV Supply Equipment (EVSE). Don’t forget that Parts 7 shall be used in conjunction with other parts.
Answer: You can have arc faults everywhere in the installation. But the consequences of having such fault depends on the location. In the rooms you can easily react to such event (you are awake and it is easy to escape), the consequences are lower than in the bedroom (risk of loss of human living) or in a museum (risk of loss of irreplaceable goods).
Question from the audience: Is IEC 60364 available as a single volume or are each chapter and section separate documents only?
No, IEC 60364 is available as a set of different standards. More info is available at www.iec.ch.
Question from the audience: In terms of specifying the efficiency for industrial products, is it mandatory to rate it by the manufacturer?
Answer: Your question is linked with regulations. Regulations depend on your country. Please, check your local or national regulations.
Question from the audience: How many separate documents does IEC 60364 comprise? Is there a comprehensive list of documents?
Answer: IEC 60364 is available as a set of different standards. It has 36 documents: 15 for the general parts and 21 parts the 7. More info is available at www.iec.ch/tc64/.
Question from the audience: How do IEC 60364 efficiency recommendations compare with LEED requirements?
Answer: IEC 60364-8-1 is a standard focusing on LV electrical installations only where LEED considers the whole building and its environment.
