Schneider one is nxtStudio from nxtControl, albeit with some minor tweaks (including unsupporting hardware Schneider did not like...).
It's way more polished, ergonomic and flexible than 4diac/4RTE, though they still are a niche. They both handle events in a FIFO manner (breadth-first), and not depth-first.
Basically nobody uses them outside of research, mainly because they market themselves as "don't use 61131 because is bad, use 61499 which is better" (with flawed arguments and some bull).
I think both these technologies have their place, and I am happy to have worked with 61499 (I think at one point, 2017/2018, I was the "61499 expert" in my country...), but I do not think they'll going anywhere soon if the committee does not awake from its dreams and tries to build something complex in a real industrial setting AND then port it to another IDE (yes, they are proud of "interoperability" and "interchangeability"... unfortunately they work only in theory).
IF they fix all the problems, IEC 61499 would be a perfect fit for logistics and manufacturing. Really.

Hi Astro0,
This particular forum is dedicated to power distribution and building automation, and primarily aimed at a Swedish community (hence the language). I am afraid you won't get many answers to your question regarding industrial automation systems in here.
I suggest you try to find a different forum on Exchange and post your questions there.
Best regards // Magnus Engström
