Afternoon,
Today i have had to rebuild my DCO server with 8.2.3, How do i add the DCO server back in to DCE? reason for asking is because the IP address and host name have now changed, old server will be removed, but before removing it I want to make sure i am able to add it back in.
Thanks
Martin

Dear Martin Parks,
You need to rediscover the DCO-server as an SNMP device at the new IP address. Please, make sure that the latest version of the schneiderops.xml v.5 DDF-file is installed on the DCE-server.
With respect.

Thank you for you reply,
How do i ensure the schneiderops.xml v.5 DDF file is installed? This server has just been upgraded to the latest version of 7.7.1.
Also, can there only be 1 DCO server added to DCE at any one time? i.e. i cant add the new server till the old one is removed?

Dear Martin Parks,
From your question:
How do i ensure the schneiderops.xml v.5 DDF file is installed?
In the DCE-client, this can be found from the menu Device -> SNMP Device Communication Settings -> Device Definition Files:
The latest schneiderops.xml DDF-file can be downloaded from the web resource, from where you downloaded the iso-image of the DCO-server.
Also, can there only be 1 DCO server added to DCE at any one time? i.e. i cant add the new server till the old one is removed?
You can add as many DCO-servers as you need (of course, taking into account restrictions on the number of nodes in DCE).
With respect.

Do you have a link to some instructions on adding DCO in to DCE?
I have just updated the definition file so it is now V5, and ran a discovery to the new IP for DCO server, however the discovery doesn't appear to run and the new server is not displayed

I have now been able to add the device in to DCE using SNMP v1, is there a way of setting it up so it uses SNMP v3?

Dear Martin Parks,
From your question:
Do you have a link to some instructions on adding DCO in to DCE?
Unfortunately, I do not know about the existence of such an instruction.
I have now been able to add the device in to DCE using SNMP v1, is there a way of setting it up so it uses SNMP v3?
I think you need to make the appropriate settings on the side of your new DCO-server. I draw your attention to your last question and to the answer:
With respect.
