Mount points for EIT gateway on RHEL 9.7

I am installing EcoStruxure IT Gateway on our RHEL 9.7 platform, I would like to request your guidance on the recommended storage layout.

Please advise on whether I should separate the following mount points for the following:
- Operating system
- Application installation directory

- Embedded PostgreSQL database
- Database logs
- Backup location

I believe EIT gateway uses an embedded Postgres SQL database. I want to ensure that our storage design aligns with best practices for performance, maintainability, and supportability.

Could you please advise on the recommended approach, including any standards or constraints we should follow?

Hello @Charles4,

- RHEL 9.7 is tested and supported, so no issues with the OS you are using

- Gateway Application installation directory is not customizable for Linux.  The Gateway always installs to the /opt directory, so ensure that the root partition has the needed storage for the application.

- The installer handles the PostgreSQL database installation, which also is within /opt, but you can set a custom port if needed during the installation.

- Database specific logs can be accessed by root or sudo user in:

/EcoSTruxureITGateway/2.2.0.16/pgsql/data/pg_log/

- The default backup location is

/EcoStruxureITGateway/backups/

- The backup location is configurable from

/EcoStruxureITGateway/2.2.0.16/bin/

 using the following command: 

sudo ./backup.sh config --destination <enter_your_custom_location>
