Hi Team,
Why does IT Advisor report "Largest Possible Redundant Server = 2.96 kW" in an empty 2N rack with two independent 5.91 kW feeds, while "Remaining Redundant Capacity" is 5.91 kW?
A 5.91 kW redundant server should draw approximately 2.955 kW from each feed during normal operation, while either 5.91 kW feed can support the full server load following failure of the opposite feed.
PSU Uncertainty has been disabled in IT Advisor 9.6, but the result remains 2.96 kW.
Could you explain the formula used by IT Advisor to calculate "Largest Possible Redundant Server" and why it is exactly 50% of the available capacity of a single redundant feed?

Hi,
I've tried a similar configuration with a rack with two rack pdus (supporting 5.91 kW each). When the rack is empty, the 'Largest Possible Redundant Server' shows 5.91 kW:
So, I guess it might be something with your setup/configuration. If you feel it needs to be investigated, please feel free to open a support ticket here: https://app.ecostruxureit.com/request/
Kind regards,
Jef

HI Jef,
I think I found the issue, and it is related to the extended power information of the genome for the selected rack pdu. In the power dependency you can see the limit in each power bank:
I have done the same configuration with a generic rack PDU and there is no limitation in the Largest Possible Redundant server:
