Hi all,
I'm looking for a global way to hide Disable Point in all relevant object menus across a Geo SCADA system as we've had multiple instances of users accidentally taking a point of service instead of disabling alarms via the object menu.
I know you can exclude pick actions in an object menu on a mimic by mimic basis but that would be prohibitively time-consuming to roll out to our entire system. Unfortunately, setting security does not appear to be an option either as the InService property appears to be tied to the same Configure permission as all other settings of the point (some of which we do want users to be able to change).
Thanks in advance

You potentially want this option
It should prevent it from being used by ViewX (whilst still allowing it in other scenarios, like logic).
If you just want to remove them from the 'Standard pick menu' there's that option as well

The Enable Point and Disable Point methods have their own permission called "Disable Points", they don't use the "Configure" permission.
See "System Administration > Security > Allocating Security Permissions > Disable Points" topic in the help.

Hi Andrew,
Whoops, I was basing my initial assertion on looking at the schema which shows the InService property tied to the Configure privilege and I somehow didn't see it as an option in the security section when I first looked at it.
In any case, Bevan's suggestion of denying it as a standard pick action permission seems to be exactly what I'm looking for.
Thanks!

Hi Bevan,
Thanks, the pick action denied permission seems to be exactly what I'm looking for. Will give that one a go.
