Hi,
Upgradeing from server 2017R3 on Windows 2016.
Upgrade to GeoSCADA 2023 (July 2026) worked fine on server 2016.
New OS on Server 2022 and installed fine, however when i go to change my server configuration or see status i get the error "Encountered an improper argument"
Tried uninstalling and re-installing. Prerequisits look ok. Tried a full instead of custom setup for the drivers i needed but keep sgetting the same result. Tried changing port 8080 to 8081 just in case with no luck.
Anyone run into this?
Of couse it's a long weekend in Canada.

I've only seen this when the Status / Config tool is the wrong version for the server.
Are you running them from the server itself?
I'd perhaps re-download a fresh installer iso and use that for a re-install.
Is there any firewall that might be doing some intrusion prevention stuff? Unlikely, but if it was altering packets that would likely result in something similar.

Server config and Status apps both use port 5481 by default - the main Geo SCADA port, so web ports are unrelated and changing them won't help.
Do you get the error when Server Config starts, when you select the server or after you enter user credentials?
As Bevan states, maybe the client tools did not get upgraded for some reason?
Find ServerConfig.exe and check it's version matches your installer server.

After you downloaded the ISO did you go to the properties of the ISO and check the Unblock box. Based on the ISO and Zip files that I have forgotten to do this, I am not sure it really affect an ISO after mounting it, but I always try to remember to Unblock files when I get them.
