Minimum PC Requirements:   CPU – Intel Core i7-37xx Quad, 2.5GHz or AMD equivalent   Graphics card – DirectX 9.0c compatible Nvidia Cuda compatible graphics card, minimum 2048MB (GTX 6xx, Quadro) (NVIDIA CUDA is used by the graphics card to accelerate the physics calculations. “Rigid” bodies are not supported at this time, but having a CUDA enabled graphics card is recommended. CUDA is a very common technology and supported by the majority of NVIDIA graphics cards, however, if the device being used is not CUDA compatible it’s ok as there is little to no difference compared to other graphics cards.) https://www.nvidia.co.uk/object/what_is_cuda_new_uk.html   Memory – 8GB RAM (32 bit: 3GB RAM)   Disk space – 900MB   Operating System – Windows 7/8/10/11 (32 or 64 bit) Administrative user rights on PC/operation system is preferred. The user should be familiar with normal PC and Windows functionality

Web License / License Server

The web license file (with the extension: .key) have to be located in the Experior installation folder (which is usually C:\Xcelgo\Xcelgo Experior…).   When Experior is started, it contacts the Xcelgo web license server to investigate whether the license is valid and whether a license seat is available. If the investigation is successful, a seat checkout is performed and the usage of Experior is granted.    When Experior is closed: Depending on the customer and license setup, Experior might give the user the option to contact the Xcelgo web license server for a check in of the license seat – or to keep it reserved for the user for later use. If checking in the license seat, the seat is available for checkout for other users with access to the same license.   The communication between Experior and the Xcelgo web license server is a bit different depending on the Experior version:   • Experior 5.x, Experior 6.0 and Experior 6.1 (prior to and including release Experior 6.1.19245) need access to port 8080 at ‘license.xcelgo.com’. They use a proprietary protocol for the license server communication.   • Experior 6.1 (from and including release Experior 6.1.19246) as well as Experior 7 need access to port 443 at ‘https://licenseapi.xcelgo.com’ for license server communication. They use a TCP protocol for the license server communication.   So: in order to check out or check in an Experior web license seat, access to and communication with the Xcelgo web license server is required. If this access is unavailable due to personal or company network restrictions and the access cannot be provided, then it is recommended to use a USB dongle licence instead.

Advanced Interface Window

Change History Change History contains sequence of assembly work on the scene and allows you to undo/redo previous actions.   Alarms Displays any alarms in the system and the connection they are related to.   Nodes Nodes displays information about action-points in model: Name, if they are on a connected route and whether or not they are visible. Only available in Discrete Events Mode.   Loads Displays information about loads in the system, their route and destination.   Schedule Add timed events to the model, such as Pauses, Resets and Termination events.   Log File Log File displays log information throughout the model runtime.   Routes The Routes window shows the routing for the system. It will show the possible routes for loads moving from action point to action point. This panel is only available in Discrete Events Mode.   Controller Controller allows the user to create custom Controllers for the model. This window is only available in Discrete Events Mode.   Build a Controller   Script The scripting window will only appear in Physics Mode, a similar controller window will appear in Discrete Event Mode.   Script allows you to build script with functionality to support model testing.   Monitor Monitor displays information about I/O assigned to a particular part or parts.   For example, right click on a Motor and select Monitor to display all the I/O related to that motor and watch the states change for the active I/O.   Statistics Statistics displays information about the current number of loads in the system/model.   For example, right click on a sensor and select Observe to add it to the list. This will give you information about the number of loads passing through the sensor.

Building Models - The Working Area

The Working Area is where the construction of the model takes place and items dragged from catalogues are placed and worked with. It is also referred to as the Floor or the Scene.     On the 3D scene you can alter floor size and texture. The default floor size is 30x30m, while the default floor texture is cement.   If you select the floor texture “None“, the graph sheet will be invisible in both locked and unlocked mode. Selected floor texture will only be visible when the 3D scene is locked (ctrl+L).   Alterations to the floor texture and floor size will only apply to the current project – not as new Experior settings.

Basic Interface Window - Solution Explorer

The Solution Explorer is situated on the top right side of the screen and lists the assemblies you add to the 3D scene.   It provides an easily accessible overview as the model becomes more complex.   In addition to Assemblies, Controller scripts and message validation templates (MVT) that are part of the model are also visible.     The Solution Explorer can be used to:   Double click on an assembly to alter its name. Click on an assembly to centre it on the 3D scene. Click on assemblies to add new sections.   All assemblies are added to a section in the Solution Explorer. You can organise assemblies in sections by dragging them from one section to another. Assemblies can also be moved from one section to another through the Properties window. Sections can be renamed either by double clicking on a section in Solution Explorer or through the Properties window. Note that when new assemblies are added they will automatically be added to the currently activated section. The active section is highlighted in Solution Explorer. Use sections to create a logical structure in Solution Explorer according to the different system part’s functions.   Select a section and right click to activate the context menu for a section. Here the entire group of assemblies can be disabled/enabled or deleted. When an assembly is disabled it is illustrated in Solution Explorer by a red square with an x inside. When you disable an assembly the physics becomes inactive. The assembly will still be visible, but with a pale grey colour. When the physics is disabled on, for example, a conveyor, loads will fall through the conveyor.     The hide assemblies function will make assemblies invisible but still functioning.   The feature can used together with importing a CAD layout. The physics from the hidden assemblies will be used but only the layout will be visible.   Right click Assembly to activate pop up menu for Assembly level. Hide/Show, Lock/Unlock, Disable/Enable.   Right click Section to activate pop up menu for Section level. Hide/Show Sections, Hide/Show Assemblies, Lock/Unlock, Fit and Disable/Enable.

Basic Interface Window - Properties

Properties pane is situated on the bottom right of the screen.   It displays the properties of any selected item/part.   Every assembly has a properties window where alterations and specifications to the different attributes can be made.   The properties window is activated by clicking on the assembly on the 3D scene or by clicking on the assembly in solution explorer.   FILTERS.   At the top of the Properties pane there is a combo box with different filters.   The filters are extracted from the configuration file that exists for every catalog.   In the Experior.Catalog.Logistic.Sensor.config file there is a list of filters associated with each property. Below you see the filters associated with the “Blocked” property for the PhotoEye.   You are allowed to add newer filters or rename existing ones.   Note: “Name” is used for identification (do not change it) and “DisplayName” is listed for being able to recognize the property (“DisplayName” is the name used in the property window were the “Name” is the the name of the property in the source code).   The filters are updated the next time Experior is loaded.

Basic Interface Window - Logs

Located at the bottom of the screen, logs reflecting work on the 3D scene can be found.   Logs displays information of catalogues loaded and every assembly that has been placed on the 3D scene.   Further more, messages triggered from code and other user defined info can be selected.   Clicking in the Logs pane and selecting either File or FileDate from the File -> Mode properties options allows the path of where the log file is saved to be customized.   Selecting File from the File -> Mode properties gives the log file the same name as the model. It will append to one same file.   Selecting FileDate gives the log file the same name as the model and affixes the date and time-stamp to the end of the file name. It will create a new file upon start and Reset.
