Overview

Use the IT Advisor web client's Dashboard menu to create dashboards from scratch or use a pre-built template to get an overview of your data center KPIs for Capacity, Power History, PUE (24 hour), and Sustainability metrics (formerly Energy Efficiency) data for the equipment you can access.

To view data, select a dashboard and the location or energy system, and date range if available.

Tip: Bookmark the dashboard in your browser or keep it running on a separate screen.

Notable changes:

• Custom dashboards were introduced in IT Advisor 9.5.1.
• Edit capabilities were introduced IT Advisor in 9.5.2.
• Add predefined widgets were introduced IT Advisor in 9.6.

Create a dashboard from a template

Go to Dashboard and click New dashboard.

Specify a Name for the dashboard.

Under From Templates, click Next.

Select a template:

• Capacity: Includes Cooling capacity, Network capacity all, Network capacity copper, Network capacity fiber, Capacity Overview, Power capacity, and U space Capacity widgets
• Power History: Includes the Power History widget
• PUE: Includes the Power Usage Effectiveness (24 Hour Average) widget
• Sustainability: Includes Data Center Infrastructure Efficiency, Historical Data Center Infrastructure Efficiency, Historical Power Usage Effectiveness, Power Usage Effectiveness, Subsystem Cost, Capacity Utilization, Carbon Usage Effectiveness, Renewable Energy Factor, Subsystem Loss, Water Usage Effectiveness widgets

Click Create.

Note: This example shows a portion of the Sustainability dashboard.

Create a dashboard from scratch

When you create a dashboard from scratch, you create your own widgets.

Go to Dashboard page and click New dashboard.

Specify a Name for the dashboard.

Under From scratch, click Start.

Under Let's personalize this space, choose either Add custom widget or Add predefined widget.

Add custom widget

Click Add custom widget to add one or more widgets to the dashboard.

• General: Specify the widget properties: Name, Description, Visualization Type (Line or Bar), Data source (KPI), and Dataset. Click Add Dataset to add additional datasets.
• X-Axis: Specify the axis title, data type (linear or datetime), and label format.
• Y-Axis: Specify the axis title.
• Series: For each dataset, specify the Series name and Color. Click the toggle to enable markers and specify the marker radius markers and to enable and specify a custom tooltip.

Click Create Widget.

The created widget is now added to your dashboard. To keep the widget, click Save.

Add predefined widget

Click Add predefined widget to add one or more purpose‑specific widgets to the dashboard. You can add a predefined widgets from the Capacity, Power history, PUE, and Sustainability categories. 

Select the widgets you want to add, and click Save.

The selected widgets are now added to your dashboard. To keep the widgets, click Save.

Edit dashboard

To modify or delete a dashboard, click Edit Dashboard.

You can add and remove widgets, edit widget properties and size, and click and drag to reorder the widgets on the screen. 

To save your changes, click Save.

Export dashboard

To save the dashboard as a PDF, click Export.
