WPT BACnet IP Tool Cannot Discover MNB MS/TP Devices Behind ENC

Issue

WorkPlace Commissioning Tool (WPT) configured for BACnet IP cannot discover MNB MS/TP field devices that are connected through an I/A Series G3 Enterprise Network Controller (ENC).

• I/A Series G3 ENC
• BACnet Integration (BACnet IP to BACnet MS/TP)
• MNB Series Controllers connected via MS/TP

Cause

BACnet routing within the ENC station is not enabled. When routing is disabled, the ENC does not pass BACnet MS/TP device information to BACnet IP, preventing WPT from discovering downstream MNB controllers.

Resolution

1. Open the ENC station in Workbench.
2. Navigate to:
   BacnetNetwork > Bacnet Comm > Network
3. Set Routing Enabled = true.
4. Save changes and allow the station to restart communication.
5. Re-run BACnet device discovery in WPT.
   The MS/TP-connected MNB devices should now be discoverable over BACnet IP.
