Guidance on how to configure and use digital point cards with a Network 8000 MicroZone II controller.

Cause

MicroZone II controllers do not natively interpret the digital input signals from DPC‑3‑1 and DPC‑3‑2 cards. A custom application file is required for these cards to function correctly.

Resolution

To enable digital input support on a MicroZone II controller:

1. Download and load the custom application file
   Use the attached application file 1‑DPC3.MZ2. This file enables the controller to correctly process signals from the DPC‑3‑1 and DPC‑3‑2 digital point cards.

2. Refer to the attached technical bulletin
   The attached TB01‑26 document provides detailed information on:

   • Supported digital point card models
   • Hardware installation
   • Wiring considerations
   • Application behavior and configuration steps

3. Compatibility note

   • DPC‑3‑1 and DPC‑3‑2 are the only digital point cards supported by the MicroZone II controller.
   • DPC‑5 series cards were designed for MNL and MNB controllers. They can be used with the DUI Expander Object, but not with standard MicroZone II applications.

(Note: The DPC-5 series cards were designed for the MNL and MNB controllers.  They are compatible with the DUI Expander Object available for both controller lines.)
