Issue
TAC Xenta devices unexpectedly display the status "Needs commissioning."
Product Line
EcoStruxure Building Operation.
Environment
• Building Operation Workstation
• Xenta 401
• Xenta 301/302
• Xenta 281/282/283
Cause
The "Needs commissioning" flag is triggered when there is a change in the device configuration. Common causes include:
- Modification of the Subnet/Node address in the Domain table
- Changes in LonWorks bindings, which may alter:
- Selector table
- Address table
- Alias table
- Upgrades or conversions from TAC Vista to EcoStruxure Building Operation
These changes affect the internal configuration, prompting the system to require re-commissioning of the affected Xenta devices.
Resolution
To resolve the issue:
-
Verify Configuration Changes:
- Check for any recent modifications in the Domain table, especially Subnet/Node addresses.
- Review changes in LonWorks bindings that may have impacted the Selector, Address, or Alias tables.
-
Recommission the Device:
- Use the Building Operation Workstation to recommission the affected Xenta device.
- Ensure all bindings and addresses are correctly configured.
-
Post-Upgrade Checks:
- If the issue occurred after a TAC Vista upgrade, verify that all device configurations were correctly migrated.
- Recommission devices as needed to align with the new system setup.
