Issue
After upgrading previously licensed AS-P controllers to EcoStruxure Building Operation 7.1.2, JCI/N2 SmartDriver licenses were no longer recognized correctly by the Enterprise Server. The Enterprise Server reported license deficits and licensing alarms, while AS-P controllers appeared licensed locally.

Cause
In EcoStruxure Building Operation 7.0 and later, the SmartDriver license no longer functions as an AS-P local license in the previous manner. Upgrading AS-P controllers does not automatically migrate SmartDriver licenses from the AS-P controllers to the Enterprise Server, resulting in a licensing mismatch where the Enterprise Server reports deficits while the AS-P controllers appear licensed.
Resolution
Return the existing SmartDriver license entitlement, re-add and reactivate the license using Device Administrator 7.1, and assign the license to the top-level Enterprise Server. After the license is assigned to the Enterprise Server, allow the Enterprise Server to distribute the licensing to the AS-P controllers.
After the license was returned, reactivated, and assigned to the Enterprise Server, the licensing error was resolved.
