Issue
In EcoStruxure Building Operation (EBO), customers report that the license renewal or license violation banner continues to reappear even after being hidden. Customers want to understand how often the banner appears, whether it only appears at login, and whether frequent banner pop-ups affect system performance.

Cause
Resolution
The appearance and frequency of the license banner depend on the license state and how long the user remains logged in:
- License renewal warning (grace period): If the user remains logged in to WorkStation, the renewal warning banner will reappear approximately 4 hours later. During the grace period, there is no limit to how many times the banner can be hidden.
- Grace period expiration: If the license is not renewed and the grace period expires, the system transitions to a license violation state. At this point, banner behavior changes to indicate a more critical condition.
- License violation banner: Once in violation:
- The violation banner reappears after approximately 8 hours if hidden.
- After 7 days, the banner can no longer be hidden.
- After 30 days, the banner changes to a red visual state to emphasize the severity.
- Login behavior: WorkStation does not retain the banner's hidden or visible state between logins. If a license warning or violation exists, the banner will be displayed each time the user logs in.
These behaviors are intentional and ensure users are regularly informed of license status without stopping system operation. The system continues running, but visual indicators escalate over time to prompt corrective action.
