Issue
During upgrades of AS-B controllers, some controllers upgrade successfully while others fail multiple times before eventually succeeding. Reported errors include timeout messages, download failures and connection loss during file transfer. In some cases, the controller became unresponsive after a failed upgrade and required recovery before another upgrade attempt.

Cause
Finding from the investigation was that a process timed out because an operation on the AS-B side was taking too long to complete.
Resolution
Recommendation if similar issues is seen.
- Perform a power cycle of the AS-B before the upgrade.
- Running the upgrade with the AS-B disconnected from the network and field bus connections where possible.
- If an upgrade fails, restore a backup taken before the upgrade and retry the process. .
