DigitalSentry and redundancy

We are trying to use DigitalSentry in a CCTV system where there is a requirement for a backup recorder, ie if the main NVR fails, a backup begins recording. I am trying to work out how to make this work with DS. DS manuals are quiet on the issue though the the DS-NV datasheets show multiple servers/recorders connected to a CCTV LAN.

In DSAdmin you can configure multiple 'servers' and assign cameras, but it isnt clear if you can have the cameras automatically swap to another 'server' if it fails. Otherwise I am thinking along the lines of installing DS-NVs on a server and having two DX8100HDDI storage units attached to it so if one fails, the other continues (ie really one 'server' with loads of drives )......

Anyone dealt with this issue?

Thanks,

Daniel.

Re: DigitalSentry and redundancy

Ok from here Comparison - Endura (vs) Digital sentry

it sounds like the answer is no on redundancy, get Endura.

Re: DigitalSentry and redundancy

DS does not offer recording redundancy. You could run 2 DS servers simultaneously as long as you factor the network load properly. Endura alows redundancy with multiple NSMs in a pool.
