SmartStruxure-Alarms-Using Alarm state

 

A SmartStruxure Alarm Object has an integer output called the Alarm state.

     0 = Normal

     1 = In Alarm, not acknowledged

     2 = In Alarm, acknowledged

     3 = Aalrm Condition Returned to Normal, but the alarm was never acknowledged.

 

In this video we will walk through a case study that uses this alarm output as part of control logic.

4 = Disable

I configure my alarms with FanCmd is monitored variable and FanSts is shunt variable. So when shunted (Cmd=On and Sts=On), the alarm is Disabled. I consider Disable to be a NORMAL condition.

Also Disable is the state of the alarm if no monitored variable is bound.

Reminder: use the Integer Input to bind to the AlarmState from the alarm object directly or multistate value. It is in the video, of course, but since I rarely use it I forgot and used an Real Input, which does not bind.

Here is an example of Display bubble configured to bind to AlarmState and show Text - Normal, Alarm, Fault and indicate Alarm for alarm conditions.
