My system is already registered, I didn't do it, how can this be?

My system is already registered, I didn't do it, how can this be?

So I finally decided to try out the new registration procedure and so far it's not going well. As Gary Montague has already found if you try and register online, you can't see the ID codes...

To make my frustration complete apparently my ID has been used before. If this is correct why don't I see my system in the Registered Systems list?

OK the issue is not exactly solved but I did manage to find someone in R&D that could explain where the System Identifier is derived from. I have created an Internal article that has been blessed by R&D that hopefully explains things.

Hmm... This will be interesting. I've registered two systems and had no issues, but then again, I did it 1 hour after release

Are these standalone AS's or ES with AS? Both mine was one ES with one AS.

If this is a general issue, we're going to get flooded :-$

This is for my laptop, just an ES without any AS...

Hi Craig,

How did you find what your system ID was?

As I wrote to Gary, I found mine in the help->registration menu! but if the system is online or already registered, I guess it no longer shows there.

I had to turn off my network connection so that it went to the offline registration Mike. I hope our customers aren't finding it this difficult!

Mine worked too .  I was also off the Schneider Network and not on the VPN.  This may make a difference?

Needed to make sure the System ID was exact and got the following screens:

Then after accessing Help > Registration the following windows appears:

Thanks Robert I wasn't on the VPN... it seems that however the ID is generated somehow there is no guarantee it's unique. Looks like an e-mail to the GST will be in order

Hmm - so the more registrations then the more chances of used System ID's then

So I wonder if there is a way to generate a new System ID then?

Just out of interest, once I disconnected from the network, I was able to see the ID. I have now registered my system correctly. The only problem I had was remembering my password for the Download centre.

Mail sent to GST, I guess we will see in the fullness of time...

Re: My system is already registered, I didn't do it, how can this be?

Just registered my personal laptop - online, but not on  SE VPN.

No problems - at no stage was I asked to enter or verify my System ID, although it was displayed on the 'Consent Request' email I received after registering.

I ignored the 'Consent Request'  (too intrusive for my personal laptop!), but 3 minutes later I received a confirmation email - 'Registration Successfully Completed'.

If I check Help > Registration I see a 'User Registration' screen similar (but not the same!) to yours.

I also entered an obviously fake Warranty expiration date - 2025 - in my registration.  There don't appear to be any checks on this, other than the end date must be later than the start date.
