An engineer is setting up a new site and is required to setup up a User Group where the group members can change setpoints, and override object states. This can be acheived reasonably easily, but the objects can be edited or even deleted, does anyone had any ideas.

The only thing that will work is to use a second value that is bound to the actual setpoint.  The user can have full access to this second value and read only to the rest of the system, and will still be able to change the value they dont have permissions on.  You may want to add programming to account for null or out of range values.
