disabling alarm in apc back ups rs 550

i recently bought a apc back ups rs 550, thought that all apc products have an alarm disable option only to know that mine had no option of that kind.It kept beeping every 30 secs 4 times( annoying).searched for some info couldnt find anything useful so decided to let go the warranty which was of no use for the way the beeping disturbed me.so opened this thing,
the front part from the bottom lever(just push it with a screw driver) and remove the rear covers screws. now open up the ups.the speaker is placed right in front of the board in the ups.
i just wrapped a tape over it to reduce the noise.personally i think its a mistake by apc to install buzzer as default and it has to be mild atleast or an option to disable the buzzer must
be designed.got over the problem at the cost of warranty which not many would like to do.my feedback would be to such products that make things terrible.

You can disable the alarm via the software.

There are two types of the Beeps or alarms on this UPS. There are "Notification Beeps" and "Warning Beeps" . You can silence only the "Notification Beeps" through Software. But there is no option to silence the "Warning Beeps".

It is not possible to stop worning from software or the button given on above lcd panel
Please suggest any aleternate way that i can stop worning beep wich can come during switch over from mains to Battery
Earler it is disebled but no it is activatd automaticaly
If any new firmware 0r software is thier please suggest
