The battery indicator icon keeps flashing without showing the battery charge condition. The owner's manual does not sufficiently explain the cause and solution. What am I missing?

If you reference the full user manual on page 6. Which of the conditions listed in the manual reflect the behaviour you see now?!?!

The link you provided to page 6 of the manual didn't clearly explain the condition of the unit. Page 5, however, was more helpful: https://prnt.sc/Ix9eRPlopuQH. I discovered the solution by accident when I turned the unit upside down while it was plugged in, which revealed the proper screen and function. It seems the battery was not seated correctly when the unit was returned to its upright position. I used a piece of hard foam to shim the battery, and now the unit performs perfectly.
