PowerChute/Monitor System/Current Status - connect more equipment?

This question was originally posted by Tom on APC forums on 3/28/2008

I have attached a screen shot of the APC PowerChute screen because a picture is worth a thousand words.

Do it make sense to have a message below the Load on Battery Backup which says "Your battery backup is currently providing 162 watts of power. You can connect more equipment to your batter backup" when there is only an estimated battery life of 10 minutes?

Does anyone else find this a bit absurd?

Unfortunately the software doesn't recognize the UPS that is attached. So long as runtime is available it will tell you you can add more load. If your UPS is a 500VA and reporting this, that is very different than a 1500VA UPS that's going to say you can add more load when you have over 30 minutes of runtime.

I figured my load the best i could with my components in my system and the software is just about right on so if it works, it is a good feature as far as i am concerned before with other versions there was no feature like this.
