Chris,

I apologize for the frustration you're receiving across the board with these two products. Is the sensitivity on the RS800 already set to low? Does the software record any type of electrical noise? Is the UPS on the same circuit as any other large appliance?

No electrical noise tried letting to low, the only thing I can think is it's because the fluctuation in voltage around here, and this unit has has the feature to monitor voltage and it is going on battery because of that, because I have read if the voltage start to go up or down the APC doesn't now how high or low it is going to go so it will go on battery ( tell me if I am wrong on this one) 9 times in 24 hours 14 total since on line and all registered as blackout. The system is on a brand new circuit just for this system except of av receiver and TV that is all thats on this circuit. The only thing plugged into the APC is the tower nothing else and it says it is using 145 watts and the other G model read it as 97 watts if that matters. I love this unit and I guess this is the way it is going to work.

Did you adjust the voltage transfer points to increase the ability for AVR instead of forcing it on battery?

Based on your power problems, you may be right. The UPS may finally be doing what you've wanted it to.

I set it to high I might have to set it back to medium if I keep getting a lot of battery switches but haven't had one in quite a while it is working as it should as far as i know and I am quite happy with this unit and APC customer service give then an A+. Thanks for your help

Haha. I clearly didn't ponder what this would do and just decided to do it with an RS1500LCD. It immediately flatlined and gave me an F6. The tone wouldn't stop until I disconnected the battery.

My recommendation? I'd stay away from it.

I just received my BR800BLK today, and not one single hiccup or error so far. No more crazy pop ups! Does it feel nice now that it doesn't nag about communications errors? * slowly falls asleep since it's so quiet without the notifications now *

THANK YOU KEVIN!!!!

Ohh and one weird question, what happens when you plug a UPS into itself in the battery backup port? Not something I'd ever dare try, but as I was packaging the BE750G away, I asked myself that question..

I put my sensitivity back to default the yellow and red light lite on the front and now i hardly have any beeps but up until know I have had 141 thats the power around here. Very pleased with this unit may have to upgrade my others to a unit like this but I need a BB like version so i can hook the cable model to the APC for added protection any suggestion NK

Christy,

If you're using a broadband/cable modem, you should still have adequate surge protection. The feeling that APC had with signal loss over coax was removed on our new LCD's, and left with Cat5 surge only. So in essence, you can put the Cat5 line from the cable modem through the RS800BLK, then out to either a router or your home machine, and still have the surge protection. For actual coax protection, you would need to have something like the PV (http://www.apc.com/resource/include/techspec_index.cfm?base_sku=PV).

I have my 750 BB and the 700BB both with the cable going through it and see no loss of signal but that just me some other might of saw some loss of signal so that is no longer an option and yes I am using the Ethernet or RJ-45 through the BR800BLK also on my APC's. Thanks once again for your info wish all CSReps were as good as you.

I have the new APC set at the default front AVP setting and I am getting 12 blackout a day due to voltage fluctuation's will this wear out the unit prematurely or should i lower the setting to the lowest setting on the lights on the front. Transfer voltage and sensitivity adjustment is what I am talking about or is the unit not operating properly I thought setting it too the default position what stop some of the going on battery tripes and it did but still get about 12 a day around 4am 9am 4pm 6pm are about when the tripes occur.

If there's a voltage fluctuation, that will force the UPS on battery regardless of what the settings are, as it means one of the reasons why a UPS will transfer to battery (change in voltage / change in time). However, if the voltage fluctuates, and remains at that voltage for a sustained period of time, feel free to adjust the sensitivty to low.
