Is the SCL500RMI1UC Li-Ion or LifePo4 ? (datasheet says both! Front logo says: Li-Ion)

Datasheet says: Lithium-Ion (LifePo4).   What is that??

It is quite a difference:  Li-Ion is much more vulnerable for explosive, heating, etc.  Less safe.

The replacable batteries show Li-Ion

I hope we don't need to buy one and open it to know...

You’ll need to provide a link to that information. All of the units we have use Lithium Ion and none of them have LiFePo4 cells / chemistry.

Holding ten cells in my hands the older units had a lower voltage rating vs the new.

I personally would not recommend these units as they have a high failure rate and the RBC is proprietary and no one offers an aftermarket replacement.

As such the replacement costs is extremely high. Regardless, if you’re firm on purchasing one then invest the extra finances for the NMC embedded version. This provides you with complete local / remote control with no reliance on the cloud or anybody’s infrastructure.

Otherwise you’re stuck using the subscription based Smart Connect option for management, communication, and control.

As there is no local access over the network using the Smart Connect RJ45 Ethernet port or SNMP.
