How do I get the battery out?

I have an APC-UPS 600 and the battery won't slip out like it's supposed to as seen in http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lkRfnNpphco

It took a lot of jiggling and now I have another question. Where do I put the white piece into this battery?if I'm supposed to pull off that metal piece in the battery, then how do I do it battery, then how do I do it?

It may help to hold the UPS right side up, over a soft surface and giggle the battery free. The terminal cables are often difficult to get at, as the battery compartment is quite tight.If you are still unable to remove the battery, it may be as a result of the battery swelling. This can occur in older units, where the battery has never been replaced.
