Failed to install PowerChute Serial Shutdown on Windows 11

I've got one SMT1000 connected to a laptop via USB, but PowerChute Serial Shutdown won't install.

The installer disappears after the "Disabling native power managment" message and pcsssetup.exe will stuck forever in the background.

The installation log is attached.

The APC UPS device seems to be recognized in device manager under battery section.

Can anybody help me?

Thanks in advance.

I suggest you go through this APC FAQ and validate all the action items listed there:

https://www.se.com/in/en/faqs/FA163608/

It goes without saying the proper USB (Data) cable that came with the system must be used. ☝️

If you grabbed just a random cheap cable you have a 50% chance it’s a power only cable vs Power & Data.

This was rarely ever the case but today it’s almost always a possibility. Other basic considerations is running the installation as an Administrator.

Trying another USB port in case it’s defective or corrupted / driver conflict. Lastly, it’s imperative you connect the cable when the software application tells you.

In rare instances the UPS requires a brain dead reset as the USB port is in a unknown state.

You may use this APC Resource Link to complete this task during a scheduled maintenance window to reduce the impact on the network:
