Hello, everyone,
I've just received from Amazon FR a replacement battery (APCRBC124) for my Back-UPS Pro 1500.
We are the 10th of May 2026 and the numbers on the battery label are 5A2528T80755.
The qualifying tests were held on August 7, 2025.
Is this battery too old, or has it been sitting in a warehouse for too long?
Should I return it to Amazon?
(I haven’t installed it in the Back-UPS yet.)"

Generally speaking if the RBC is stored at the correct temperature and environmental setting. A high quality RBC will be fine sitting for 12 months on the shelf without being recharged.
You can validate this by completing a crude voltage test and report the DC Voltage here. Expectation is the RBC will show at least 12.8 ~ 12.9 VDC.
Anything above, such as 13.XX VDC is perfect and indicates a very high quality cell that has been sitting on the shelf for 9 months.
Typically you would reference the battery makers specification data sheet as to resting voltage, internal resistance, charging interval, etc.
NOTE: Do not accept any RBC that measures a voltage below 12 VDC for a single cell!
IE: 11.XX VDC or below
Given this is two cells wired in series the DC Voltage will be at least 24 VDC.

As a gentle reminder please also complete the following action items in sequence to obtain the best outcome.
RBC: Allow the new RBC to charge for a minimum of 72 hours before you complete the following action items.
Date: Ensure you update the RBC installation date via Power Chute Software. This resets internal counters and adjusts charging tables if applicable.
Self Test: Manually initiate a self test either through the user interface or via Power Chute. Let pass and allow the RBC to recover 100% SOC (State of Charge).
Calibration: Manually initiate a battery calibration via Power Chute with a minimum of 30% connected load or higher. Once complete allow the RBC to recover to 100% SOC.
This will allow the system learn the state of health of the new RBC and better reflect the operational runtime more accurately on the LCD, Power Chute.
