Ok. I just got this item last January 1, 2008.
I've been banging my head on what to do with it. Today when I switched it on the overload LED flashed. Continuous alarm went off. I followed the instructions in the manual:
1.Take out everything plugged in on the battery backup, and everything else except the main power.
2.Turned off the unit.
3. Pushed the reset button on the back of the unit.
4. Powered it on.
Still the overload LED keeps coming up and the alarm goes up.
Did the whole process many times. I even unplugged the battery. Then re-plugged it.
Still the same thing.
Only the overload LED is flashing. When I power-up the unit, the self test will not proceed and will flash the overload LED.
The power surge output are working. Only the battery backup outlet are not working.
What was plugged in to the unit before the problem:
1x PC with Intel Core Duo 945
550w Coolermaster PS
1x 80g Seagate SATA
1x 160g Seagate SATA
6800gs NVidia card
Striker extreme board.
1x 19' CRT monitor
1x Linksys WRT350N wifi
The equipments are still working properly. they are now plugged in directly to the wall socket. The RS-1500 has always been plugged directly to the wall socket. I tried another wall socket no dice.
Can anyone guide me what else should I do?
Thank you!

I just had a chat with customer support. They will pick-up the item and replace it with a new one free of charge.
Thanks!

Hello,
If it's doing it with no load attached, and the LED is flashing, not solid, that would indicate a fault with the UPS. I recommend you have the UPS replaced.

Thank you for your info, Notorious KMP!
So should I just drive it to their Service center then? I wonder how long I'm gonna get a replacement for this? Does anyone know if I have to bring everything, the box, accessories and all or the unit and the internal battery will do?
By the way I don't have the receipt anymore but I've check the warranty online and it says it's still under warranty - should be considering it's been only a month with me.
Thanks!

Toink,
I'm not familiar with service centers and how they operate with international units. Domestically, within the U.S. and Canada, if there is a problem with the UPS, you would have to call into Tech Support and receive a replacement via mail, eliminating service centers.
