Back-UPS 600 EC LED blinking during Battery mode

HI All

I have a old ups model Back-ups 600 ec, the unit still working fine, but i just notice that when the unit was on battery the LED at the switch is Blinking and the beeping is quit normal, so this Blinking is a by nature for this ups? thanks in advance

Yes, everything is fine., i connect 1 LCD monitor (15 inch), the beeping quit ok, it will beep every 30 sec. Its Back-UP 600 EC S/N: GB9733943777.

APC Back UPS is normally designed to emit four beeps every 30 seconds on Battery mode. The Power on will not lit during 4 short beeps. This is normal operation of the UPS on battery mode.

When you unplug the UPS from the mains and the UPS is ON, it is as same as the UPS working on battery mode without mains. And when the UPS is "ON Battery"APC Ups will blink amber light and beep every 30 Sec. The beep and blinking stops only when UPS is connected on the mains as the UPS senses restoring of Power and works on Mains Mode.

LED lit up is Green color not amper there's only 1 LED for this model, everything is working fine except for the LED will keep on blinking after i unplug the main power supply. So, that why i ask if this is a natural mode for this model when it goes to Battery mode...thanks

This is normal operation of the UPS on battery mode. i.e., blinking or flashing Power on LED(Green) on battery mode. If you notice the Green light, it will not illuminate during 4 short beeps. However, it will be lit when there is no beep from the UPS on battery mode. This operation will make the Green light blink on battery mode. The UPS's on Battery(i.e.,light and audible) status information can be found in the UPS user manual.

i understand, but for this unit right after you unplug the power supply it will start to Blink the LED., but the beeping will beep every 30 sec. and is a normal right, but the LED continue to blink all the way. Maybe i can send you a video clip later part..

Is the UPS powering the equipment fine when it is behaving this way? Could you please confirm me the exact model number of the UPS? You can find it on a white bar code sticker at the rear of the unit.

Unfortunately, I could not find the user manual for this unit as it is an outdated model which was manufactured in 1997. I assume that the unit might have had designed to behave this way on battery. I would not worry about the light indication if the UPS is powering everything fine on battery 🙂

I found a link the other day, its a user manual for Back-UP EC model but they never state that it will blink after you unplug the power supply, anyway i think i agree with you, it might be a nature for this ups.

But the problem is when i unplug the ups LED start to blink and its never stop until i plug in back. The beeping is normal.

I was wondering, I have the same product. When I plug the unit into any outlet and turn it on, it emits a continuous beep and the green led light flashes constantly. Does this mean that it is trash? Or can I just replace the battery?

Hi Matt,

We would appreciate if you could provide the exact model number of your UPS. The one that blackAces was using is a BackUPS EC model which I haven't heard in any of our US model.
