I recently purchased a BX700U and all was well until I went on holiday! Before leaving I turned everything off but now my PC refuses to recognize the UPS. I have tried all the obvious things, such as removing all other USB devices, un-installing and re-installing Powerchute (it won't of course as it can't see the UPS), a new USB lead, another USB socket. Any suggestions gratefully received.

Hi,
You should verify that the APC USB driver is enabled. See Schneider Electric FAQ FA310907. If the driver is correct try to reset the UPS.
To reset
1: Disconnect any attached load.
2: Unplug the UPS from the wall socket.
3: Disconnect the UPS' internal battery.
4: Push and hold the "On" button on the UPS for 5 seconds
5: Reconnect internal battery.
6: Plug UPS in to known good power source.
7: Turn UPS on.
