I just purchased and received a new APC 1500 Plus and it worked fine the first day. I had my desktop computer, monitor, a point-of-sale printer, labeler, and the credit card machine. The display indicator seemed to show a very low wattage use. I worked fine all that day. That night I powered down only the computer and the monitor went into stand-by.
The next morning, I had no power to the computer or any of the above components. The display showed F01.
After doing some research, I tried removing the battery, pressing the reset (which does not appear to do anything), re-plugging it in and checking, WITHOUT ANY POWER LOAD, (nothing plugged into any of the the back outlets). I am still getting the F01 error code.
Notes: I have not installed the software and actually did not plan to. I would like to keep it simple, if possible.
Any help would be appreciated!

You've tried removing the battery and unplugging the UPS. Since it still says F01, it's time to call APC tech support. Contact information is here. It sounds like the UPS is new and still under warantee so they should be able to help you out.
